By choosing hubergroup, you are not only committing to the highest standards of quality and service, but also to acting responsibly – because we care deeply about the environment and our fellow human beings. We are therefore working with great dedication to further improve the safety, resource efficiency and environmental sustainability of our products and processes, and to support the chemical industry in adopting more sustainable solutions. For a future with a future.

Committed to sustainability

Let’s make a bigger difference together!

How can we contribute to a more resource-efficient future? This question plays an important role at hubergroup every day. We know that we bear a great responsibility toward people and nature. We therefore strive to balance social, economic, and environmental needs in order to leave behind a world worth living in for future generations. For us, this means, above all, working in a resource-efficient manner to produce specialty chemicals that support our customers in their sustainability efforts. The principle of the circular economy – in which we avoid waste and instead reuse materials to protect our environment – plays a central role for hubergroup. In close cooperation with organisations such as Cradle to Cradle, CEFLEX, INGEDE and EPEA, we are constantly working to further improve our products and processes and to support the printing industry in implementing the circular economy and resource efficiency. We are also part of Responsible Care. We have therefore signed the Responsible Care Global Charter, which sets out a series of fundamental principles and commitments for companies in the chemical industry worldwide. In the summer of 2025, hubergroup received a group-wide bronze medal from EcoVadis, the largest independent provider of sustainability assessments, placing it among the top 35 per cent of companies assessed worldwide over the past twelve months. The assessment covers the areas of the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Our production

The efficient use of energy, raw materials and water is a key component of our production processes. With our water treatment plant in Vapi (India), for example, we are able to treat and reuse around 60 per cent of the wastewater generated. The plant supports a more resource-efficient use of water and helps to reduce the demand for fresh water in our production operations.

At our production site in Bolzano Vicentino (Italy), a modern trigeneration plant helps to meet a large proportion of the demand for electricity, cooling and hot water directly on site. This enables us to reduce our energy-related CO₂ emissions by around 420 tonnes per year whilst simultaneously increasing the site’s energy efficiency.

These measures are supported by certified environmental management systems: all our production sites in Italy, Poland and India are certified to ISO 14001. This certification helps us to systematically integrate environmental considerations into our processes and to continuously improve them.

Our products

From deinkable printing inks and nitrocellulose-free (NC-free) ink systems to functional barrier coatings for recyclable packaging solutions: when developing our products, we take into account aspects such as product safety, resource use and recyclability. As an integrated manufacturer, we also develop and produce key raw materials such as resins, pigments and additives in-house, enabling us to address requirements throughout the value chain at an early stage.

Our services

Through our services, we support customers in selecting suitable products and processes. For example, we advise on requirements relating to recyclability, product safety and regulatory compliance, and highlight opportunities for the efficient use of resources in printing and packaging processes.

High quality standard around the world

That is our promise to you

Since we have a presence on every continent, we rely on uniform standards and efficient global processes. This allows us to ensure transparency in our operations, consistently align our activities with our customers’ needs, and integrate aspects such as quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety into our daily processes.

On the safe side

Because product safety is our top priority

Guaranteeing safe and reliable products for our customers – that is our top priority. To ensure we meet the highest safety standards, we have a global product safety team and closely monitor every stage of the production process. Our qualified and specially trained colleagues work in our production facilities with raw materials that we carefully select based on strict criteria and testing. In addition, we thoroughly review our customers’ individual requirements so that we can provide them with the best possible advice when selecting their speciality chemicals.

Of course, we guarantee that we comply with the applicable regulations for your markets and products – from REACH and TSCA to CLP and GHS. But that alone is not enough for us. In many cases, we even apply safety standards that exceed legal requirements – for example, by adhering to the exclusion policy of the European Printing Ink Association (EuPIA) – and have established our own Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines to ensure the highest level of safety for food packaging. As a member of industry associations, we also initiate discussions to actively shape and advance safety guidelines.

A safe workplace for our employees

We see to it

Ensuring the safety and health of our employees – that goes without saying for us. Not only because our employees are responsible for the hubergroup’s success, but also because we value each and every one of our colleagues.

We therefore take a holistic approach to safety and have comprehensive guidelines in place to ensure safe working conditions and production processes at our locations around the world. Of course, we also regularly monitor compliance with our high safety standards and, when necessary, refine our processes to make our employees’ work environment even safer.

Our social commitment

For a strong community

At the heart of our social commitment is supporting the communities surrounding our locations. As a company with a global presence, we support organizations and initiatives in the regions where our employees live and work – from India to Italy to New Zealand.

In doing so, we focus in particular on the areas of education, health, and the environment. Together with local partners, we support projects tailored to the specific regional needs. Our activities range from education and health programs to supporting children and young people, as well as raising environmental awareness and supporting cultural initiatives. Examples include various educational initiatives in India, support for breast cancer screening projects in Italy, tree-planting campaigns at our Indian locations, and our global drawing contest for employees’ children, “My Happy Earth.”

One very special project is our healthcare initiative in India: Fartu Dawakhanu (“mobile clinic” in the regional language of Gujarat). Since healthcare remains a challenge in many rural areas of India, hubergroup India partnered with Rotary Vapi Riverside in 2023 to support healthcare in rural areas of the Indian state of Gujarat. As part of this commitment, we sponsor four vans equipped with doctors, nurses, and basic medical supplies. These vehicles travel to 16 remote villages every week to conduct on-site medical examinations. For example, the doctors treat common illnesses and perform dental and eye examinations.

Since its launch in 2023, the initiative has made a significant contribution to the region (as of December 2025):

85,574 people received general medical care

26,969 patients were treated in the ophthalmology department

25,359 people benefited from dental services

Sustainability

At hubergroup, responsible conduct and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. Our Code of Conduct brings together the principles of environmental management, social responsibility, and good corporate governance, and serves as a guide for all employees.

These include, among other things, requirements regarding occupational health and safety, respect for human rights, compliance with legal requirements, fair working conditions, and transparent conduct. Through these principles, we aim to make a responsible contribution to our employees, business partners, and society.
